Blues Workshop with David Zilkha – Sat 25th June 2011

Cambridge Lindy Hoppers are delighted to present a Blues workshop with David Zilkha in Cambridge on Saturday 25th June 2011, followed by an evening social dance.

Teacher: David Zilkha

David Zilkha

David has been teaching lindy hop and blues for over 5 years in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. He was one of the founders of the London Lindy Exchange, the London Balboa Festival, and Blues Revolution (the most established blues dancing organisation in Europe), and has recently founded Swing Dance Bristol. Before his overnight conversion to lindy hop & blues many years ago, he had a background in contemporary dance which taught him how to use and be in control of the dancer’s weight and centre and was a perfect preparation for partner dancing.

Schedule

Sat 25th June 2011, 10.15am – 4.30pm: Beginner/Improver Blues Workshop
While the workshop will be suitable for total beginners, it will be progressive throughout the day and will provide a challenge and new ideas for those who already have some experience of blues. There will be a number of sessions across the day covering different aspects of blues dancing, starting with the fundamentals and building on them.

Sat 25th June 2011, 7.30pm – late: Lindy-friendly blues social dance
Come and show off your new moves with a fun social dance in the evening after the workshop!
