Teachers

Ursula Ledergerber finished her professional dance education in July 2002, including Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Ballet, Flamenco and more. She has been teaching in Switzerland but also on a international level for several years, mainly Lindy Hop and Blues, as well as stretching and body-control. She can give all the Ladies an excellent example to follow and a lot of new and fresh inspiration in Lindy Hop. She is part of a younger generation of Swing Dancers and therefore adds a lot of new elements to the Swing Dance. All of this comes to her in a very natural way, since she grew up surrounded by music and rhythm from a mother who was a professional jazz musician. Maybe that explains her ease in playing around with rhythms as well as her passion today for Music and Dance.

Ursula has been teaching in:

* Switzerland: Zurich, regular classes and workshops
* Germany: Lippstadt Lindy Festival // Tanzschule Erbelding St. Wendel
* Australia: Melbourne Lindy Exchange
* Sweden: Herräng Dance Camp // Swing in Spring, Göteborg // Uppsala
* France: workshops in Paris, Nancy, Tours, Cahors, Ligoure, Nyon and Strassbourg
* Canada: Vancouver
* Russia: Workshops in St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl
* England: Cambridge
* Denmark: Copenhagen
* Norway: Stavanger // Trondheim
* Hungary: Budapest

Dave Madison (USA). Dave Madison discovered partnered dance through Lindy Hop back in 1996.

At the Sunday Late Night of the 2001 Austin Lindy Exchange, Dave discovered Blues dancing thanks to the connivings of his friend Mel and the song Fallin’, and his life took a turn.

Soon after, he became instrumental in the origins of the contemporary Blues house party which eventually led to our formal Blues Scene. He helped found LindyBooty, the world’s largest Lindy house Blues event, which then inspired blues parties across the West Coast and the states, eventually turning into much of the Blues dance scene as we know it today. Perhaps more importantly, though, he’s widely unknown as the originator of the House Party Blues Crepe.

He’s also taught Blues workshops across the world, from at home in San Francisco to Herräng as well as workshops across the United States and across Europe. His workshops are based on the foundations and joy of Blues as opposed to just sets of moves, and they have been received with much positive feedback.

Otherwise he can generally be found dancing and teaching Blues and Lindy on the road and helping evolve a powerful Blues scene when he’s back home in San Francisco.
