Get Ready for the Cambridge Lindyhopathon (Feb 2)

January 31, 2008 - 8:56 pm 1 Comment

Now is the time to contribute to the Cambridge Lindyhopathon. You can come along to the event yourself, or sponsor a dancer at Justgiving. Also, listen out on Radio Q103 FM for a short interview with Ros, Lotte and Matt that will be played at various times on Friday. The Cambridge Lindyhopathon is a sponsored charity dance relay on February the 2nd and with your help, will raise lots of money for a very good cause. Live music will be provided by Mr Colin Hazel between 12pm and 1pm, and a social dance will take place alongside the sponsored dance from 7.30pm. Entry is £4 or £5, and you’re guaranteed a fantastic time with DJs Matt Riddle, Martin Ellis and Paul Claydon on board. We’ll also be running a Taxi Dance for the hottest dancers to the highest bidders, so all your Lindy wishes can come true!! The story so far… early last year Ros Evans decided to raise some money for her favourite charity, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. As well as being incredibly fun, it was a massive success, and she ended up raising over £4,000. So, Ros decided it would be a good idea to do it all again — this time for 12 hours instead of 8. Get involved!

Afterwards it’s party time, when we will social dance for almost 3 hours on a beautiful floor, in a beautiful room, with a bar close at hand. Invite all your Lindyhopping and non-Lindyhopping friends, it will be a great way to get started with the dance. Also: there will be a special performance by the Cambridge Lindy Hoppers dance troupe!

The Cambridge Lindyhopathon is a sponsored charity dance relay that will take place in February and hopefully raise lots of money. 7 Days To CLX…

October 12, 2007 - 5:31 pm No Comments

The Cambridge Lindy Exchange is now only a week away. The schedule is being fine-tuned, and final arrangements are being put in place for what will surely be a wonderful weekend. We now have 80 people registered for the entire weekend. The good news? It’s still not too late to register. Also, tickets for the Saturday night with Torben Rees and his sextet and the Tea Dance with the Colin Hazel trio will be available on the door! The bad news? We may not be able to sell door tickets for the Friday evening welcome dance, because we are already very near the venue capacity. So the only way to be sure to get in to everything is to register now — but do it quickly because we may even sell out completely this week! If you’ve already booked, please send your payment now. Register here.
