• President: Will Sheldrake
I never intended to take up dancing. One fateful day I went to a birthday party where I got my first experience of Lindy Hop and saw what great energetic fun it was. Unfortunately I spent most of that evening sitting down missing out so it didn’t take much after that to persuade me to go to a class. The rest is history, I am hooked! I now try to dance some Lindy wherever and whenever possible. I have been part of the Cambridge Lindy committee for the last two years and have now taken over the role of President, I’m enjoying every minute. Nothing makes me happier than helping improve the Lindy scene in Cambridge. On the occasion that I’m not dancing I work with silicon chips, restore old cars and sometimes get some sleep.

• Treasurer: Caroline Williams
I did some lindy a couple of years ago when I danced with the Cambridge Dancers Club, where I also did rock’n'roll, salsa, and ballroom. I found my true dance home when I joined Cambridge Lindy Hoppers in early 2007. I love how you can dance swing to so many tempos and styles, and I love how friendly and welcoming the lindy scene is.

• Maria Andersson
I successfully avoided ceroc, but after ca 10 years of streetdancing I was drawn into lindy after being told that I wasn’t a real Swede unless I did lindy. Not knowing what on earth they were talking about, I threw myself into the world of lindy and went to Herrang. It changed my life. Now my life revolves around lindy and Herrang. I’ve wanted to start since my first year in Cambridge, so it was a dream coming true actually starting CLH. At last I can dance every week!!! I love dancing, love it, love it, love it. It makes me the happiest bunny ever. It makes me fit, happy and I get to meet lovely people. And I get to listen to good music. I dance quite a lot, including when cooking, doing practicals etc. And when I’m actually not dancing I’m longing for next dance. Alternatively I travel (sadly not enough to dance events), study, look at rocks, rock climb, read and see my lovely CLH friends!

• Jo Bradey
I’m Jo, I helped out with the CLX ’09 walking tour and have been a volunteer on the door ever since, so hopefully I’m a familiar face! I love dancing and Lindy and am really looking forward to another year with the added excitment of being on the committee!
• James Stein
I moved to Cambridge about a year ago, having been dancing all sorts of things since the beginning of university, and Lindy for about 2 years. As much as I can I’m a regular at CLH events, and I’d like to help keep the society going at such a lively level. As an physicist and engineer I’m organised, sociable, more than happy to do technical stuff, and have even been known to make the odd cake!
• Mike Thyer
I took up Lindy Hop dancing when I came to Cambridge two and a half years ago. I’d never heard of Lindy Hop before and I planned to try a number of different dance styles, but so far I’ve only got as far as Lindy Hop and I’m sticking with it!
• Hannah Walford
I have been dancing for about a year and a half and have totally caught the lindy bug. In other spare moments I do a lot of choral singing, a variable amount of gardening and some knitting of small things (not having the patience for projects that take a long time). My moments that are not spare are spent working in public health
intelligence for the NHS.
• Heike Templin
I am Heike and a scientist. I caught the first glimpse of the Cambridge Lindy Hoppers during one of those jazz on the green events in the summer of 2008 and remembered that I always wanted to be able to dance to jazz/swing music. an opportunity presented itself there and I’ve been dancing with CLH since.
